    Blued or Engraved first?

Have a couple guns I want to get engraved. Colt 1911 and .357 Lever action. They also need to be re blued, so my question is should I have them engraved or re blued first?

Once a firearm is engraved, it'll need to be refinished. So, engraved first. If you blue first then engrave the firearm, you'll have to refinish it again.

To do the engraving the engravor will first strip the bluing off the area to be engraved.
