Wait time on S&W warranty service?

Anyone send anything to S&W for warranty? Just curious how long it takes. I sent in a 642 that the clear coat was coming off and it's been awhile now. I miss my stubby!

Did you ship it to S&W or one of their approved smith? I haven't use their warranty yet, but did come across Bolsa Gunsmithing down here in Socal.

I do need to change out two screws on the outside of my used 629 because they scratch my fingers.

I sent a model 629 Dx back to them, so they could align the barrel properly. It was canted a little and they had to thread the barrel on just a tiny bit more to align it. It took 10 days to get the gun back. It was really fast. They also paid all the shipping costs.

3 times on a pistol. Each time, it came back exactly 2 weeks after leaving my hands.

They don't give notice or send a tracking number. I figured out that they put the SN as one of the reference numbers in the shipment. So what I did was track by reference with the SN on UPS and got a heads up a day in advance before the gun came back.
