Are Cobray M11's good to go?

Cobray does have a web site and they do have kits. Maybe look for a receiver. It might have the same status as the FAL/G3.

those M11 are hard to come by...I tried buying PPT last year....that is the only way to aquire in Cali.,I found a couple but the prices were to rediculous..$600+

I was thinking of making one with a flat reciver and some parts sold on web sites ,but I haven't had the time to call DOJ and get the green light.
From what I understand the feds say it's ok to build a gun for personal use not as a manufacturer...need to research this approach.


FYI no threaded barrels but you can now make them to accept sten mags.

The M11 is not ok - the PM11 is ok. The M11 is a CA AW by law - it has a threaded barrel. The PM11 does not.

You can assemble one but you cannot create an AW, so you have to make the PM11 version.

The PM11 does not fall into the AW category because it does not have any evil features. However, it was never submitted for the CA drop tests and therefore does not show up on the list of approved handguns. Doubtful that it will ever be on that list, either.

I looked at the web sites quoted here and all I see are threaded barrel uppers - not good for CA if you want to stay out of hot water.

I too am enamored with the idea of owning a junky POS PM11 for some reason - the idea that it just looks nasty and will give the liberals heart attacks is a prime motivator, plus I'm just a fan of these kinds of guns.

If anyone finds a way to do the PM11, either self-manufacture, or private party stashes, let me know!!

Perhaps - the whole point, I think, isn't to outperform anything.. it's to satisfy an inexplicable urge, a desire for something forbidden, a passion for the ugly..
