Shooting in the dark..

We are toying with idea of setting up a couple hours a week for people to practice shooting in the dark. The only lights that will be on in the range are the ones above the stalls.. The rest of the range will be dark. Anyone interested? If so what time/ day of the week would you guys like to do it?

Although i love the idea. But the thought of shooting in a dark room with a bunch of strangers makes me kind of uneasy.

On the flip side i would LOVE a facility where i could brush up on my low light, no light shooting.

That is the reason we will leave lights in the stalls on.. That way we can make sure we can keep an eye on everyone. We also always have at least 1 RSO in the range.

RSOs at IVE are great, helpful and safe. I would do this except I am still trying to learn how to shoot accurately with the lights on!

I'm not near, so I wouldn't personally be there. My range is a public outdoor range and I REFUSE to go there on the weekends from opening to 5pm (they close at 7pm in the summer) because of how many times I see people bringing friends and then not teaching them safe gun handling. I love that people are introducing people to shooting, but do it safely damn it.

I'm fairly certain that I would be extremely nervous if a first timer came to this as they would probably be more prone to turning around 180 degrees with the gun when asking a question or looking for their friend since they cannot see ahead of them very well.

On the other hand, I think very few first timers would really show up to a low light shoot.

In the end, I would definitely go at least a couple of times to at least see if safe gun handling people are the typical low light goer.
