This was my letter to the fella who runs the webpage for the paper.

Dear Mr Allen,

I took part in your poll earlier on the Gun issue and I came back to check on the current results and noticed it was gone. This has happened in the past when a poll does not go the way it was hoped. Please reassure me your paper does not hold to hiding the truth. Put back the results.

I sent an email to the editorial staff (opinion@marinij.com) which read:

I participated in a "gun control" poll you had on your web page earlier today (Monday 7/23/12) and was watching the results throughout the day. I was surprised to see the poll ha been taken down by early this evening and was wondering what your reasoning for that might have been?

It is a bit suspect that you would remove the results, particularly since it appears that the results were not what you (may have) expected them to be. If it is your policy to skew the truth, or to hide the general consensus from your readership, then you should be ashamed.

There have been quite a few polls (just like yours) across the nation after the tragedy in Colorado, and nearly every single one of them have overwhelmingly (75/25) rejected more gun control as a national solution to events like those in Aurora. If those polls reflect the voice of the people, then you have a duty to share that information with YOUR readership as well. It is an injustice, and further tarnishes the already questionable reputation of the media in general to hide results which the "tree hugger" minority may find a bit off putting.

Sometimes the truth just stings a little bit. Particularly when it is not the "truth" you were hoping for.

Didn't get to vote on the gun control poll but I did get to vote on the cost of environmentally friendly homes. I think there should be another poll. Should the people of Marin county have to take an intelligence test in order to vote? After giving us Boxer and Pelosi, I think they should. LOL
