    "Shotgun Slugs at 230 Yards"

Advance this video to 10:30 to see close up of this guy's grouping at 230 yards. Not bad at all coming from a shotgun slug.

"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

There was a guy shooting slugs at 100 yd at Angeles about two weeks ago, he said you had to aim about 3-4' low

Old guy, shooting 12 guage slugs offhand, with old eyes...

Hope I'm good as him at that age.

From testing done by Holland and Holland in 1903 using a 730gr slug at 300yds in a double.

Dumb question, but I've never shot slugs in my smoothbore shotgun before, just bird loads and 00 buckshot, so I don't know anything about slugs but now I want to try some at 100 yards on paper to see how they group...

Do the slugs spin when they come out of a smoothbore shotgun barrel, and if so, I assume they are rifled or grooved somehow?

Yes, that's why the slugs used in smoothbore shotguns are called rifled slugs.

Not a slug, but I once saw a Colton PD Swat officer hit a telephone pole at 100yrds with a tear gas round out of his 870. Cool to see the round hit and then a puff of gas appear.

Yes if you're firing a typical rifled shotgun slug like the one in the upper pic below. However I'm not sure how accurate a sabot slug would be through a smoothbore. Generally use the sabots through a rifled barrel.

Typical 1oz Rifled Shotgun Slug like the one Hickock was shooting.

Thanks guys; I could have googled that myself but I was just being downright lazy

Off to find a deal on rifled slugs...
