Going to Vegas - where to shoot Select Fire? :)

Leaving for Vegas now... I can check this when I get over there.

I know the Gun Shop place is not CA. friendly, are there any other places near the strip that have some Full Auto toys you can try out at the range?

I'd like to try out a Mac-10 or a full auto pistol... and a Tommy gun.

    Thanks!

Good luck on the 15 when you get close to Vegas. It's shut down right now due to the fire and will probably be a mess for quite some time.

I just came back from Vegas. Most of the hotel brochures have coupons for this one gun shop / range. They offer the usual fully auto weapons for range firing. It wasn't to far off the strip. I think it was on like Tropicana. Anyways it's advertised heavily in the yellowpages and most brochures.

I was out there around September and I saw a bunch of full sized billboards (on the 15)with pics of MP5s and ARs, saying something to effect of "come shoot these here..."

The Gun Store is the one on Tropicana - bring money, have fun.

It is very expensive, though. I've never had the full auto bug bad enough that I felt like spending over $100 on a single range trip. That kind of money will buy one heck of a Panoche trip with lunch, gas money, and ammo all included.

            To each his own, though.

Been to the Gun store. Great way to blow through cash fast. When you handle a full auto weapon, there's always an instructor/range personell next to you. They post targets fairly close (less than 50 feet) to prevent riding the recoil to the roof. You can shoot single shot, but that's no fun knowing there's a full auto switch :-). Prices when I shot in 2005 were ok. No range fee (since shooting is less than 3 minutes), but about 20 - 30 bucks for 2 magazines of fun. Standard AR/AK/MP5, but also a M249 SAW (30 round magazine), and WW2 vintage stuff, thompson/MP38.

I wouldn't give them one dime. They are complete @ss****'s, I asked to look at a AK-74 style rifle and they wanted my ID! So I showed them and they said I couldn't buy the gun so I couldn't look at it. They are only interested in getting tourists in their to throw away money on ammo for full auto gun time. There is a place out off the blue diamond road by the Silverton/Bass Pro shops that has a lot better customer service

+1 Been to that one and put two magazines through a Thompson

Had to wait for two brothers from England to finish tho. They must have spent $500 on shooting anything they could get their hands on. Great time.

                      Have fun

I went a few years ago, I remember it being somewhere close to $1 per rounds. That isn't how they calculate price but it was pretty darn close. I told them I was from California and they didn't treat me much differently. They pretty much showed pity and told us that is why we need Republicans as governor. I told him Arnies is or atleast pretended to be...

I got to tear up Osama and Saddam with an M16, MP40, and a Thompson M1A1.

I went to the range down on tropicana and it was both fun and expensive. I shot:
                          Thompson
                          Sten
                          MP40
                          Grease Gun
                          SAW

The 1st 4 weren't bad price wise. I think I spent about 40 bucks a gun which included I think 40 rounds. The SAW broke the bank. It ran me 200 bucks to shoot 100 rounds. I left with close to a $400 hit to my wallet but I lost more in the casinos and at least I got something out of this.

I'm sorry to say, the Gun store sucks. It's like going to the LA gun club. Instead you may want to consider: Discount Firearms Inc. 084 S. Highland, #B Las Vegas, NV 89109 Store Hours: 9am to 7pm, Monday - Saturday
Range Hours : 9am to 6:30pm, Monday - Saturday Phone: (702) 567-1158 http://www.discountfirearmsinc.com. I found the place in way better condition and the people friendly.
Good luck and fire a few for me.

Been to The Gun Store, and shot:

                              M249 SAW
                              MP5
                              MP40
                              AKS-74UN

It cost about $250, so it's probably not something I'd do again anytime soon, just a one time thing most likely.
