TOR was intesting back when it was a university project. They called it onion routing and thought it would be used for unpopular political speech by citizens of third world countries.

Too bad that is not at all what it really is being used for... Most of the TOR based webservers are serving up either disgusting porn, or selling illegal stuff through the mail.

Just dont mix TOR and Windows. Most of the TOR based sites are infested with malware.

The sites are not interesting enough to warrent a reinstall.

There are been many busts off Silk Road. You can only be so anonymous when you go to pick up cocaine or a 3' M4.

I read this article the other day. Notice how the writer just basically says, "it exists. I think?" His article would have read as a lot more truth than fiction if he would have actually bought something. As it stands now, we just have a bunch of Internet JOs talking about something that they supposedly do. It is possible that the people that use the site do actually buy and sell illegal and unregistered weapons.

It is also possible that the whole thing is a bunch of fantasy play by wannabee mall ninja geeks who participate in between their rounds of moronic video games. I live near LA, where for the right price and connections, you can buy just about anything. Two friends who are in law enforcement have told me of seizures of RPGs, grenades, SAMs and all manner of full auto small arms, it's all there, you just need a lot of money and some connections. So it's not a big surprise criminals have taken this enterprise to the Internet, but I don't know if what this guy wrote about is an actual arms supermarket on-line.
