Newbie question here re: What's legal?

    Howdy all,

Forgive my noob questions in advance, I'm sure you read these often.

I'm going to be moving out there to your fair state and have a few questions. I thought that I'd have to monsterize my ARs to be legal, but I'm seeing a whole bunch of ARs that look totally "normal" And I'm seeing the HK USC for sale and they look unmodded as well. Am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance.

    search oll on this site.
Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D) announced. The risk here is that an appeal could lead to an unfavorable Supreme Court ruling, and a legal principle that now applies only to the residents of the nation's capital would extend to the entire nation

Certain make/model receivers are a no-no; all others are regulated according to features. 10+ rd mags are a no.

They likely have a bullet button on them. In case you are unaware the bullet button is the other way of compliance, you can run features such as the pistol grip, hider, etc because in the eyes of the law the magazine is not detachable (the legal description of a detachable magazine is that it can be removed without the use of a tool, a bullet tip is specifically mentioned as a tool in the law). If you search on bullet buttons you will see.

The trade off there is for people have had magazines that hold more than ten rounds before the ban took affect cannot use them in these fixed magazine with features build, that's a moot point for many of us younger ones though 'cause we can't have those mags anyway
Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.

If your AR is ON THE LIST, even "monsterize" it will not make it legal in CA. Check "CA DOJ's AW ID Guide".

You can tell us what you have, and we can help you.

Also, if you see weapons that "look unmodded" for sale, they only "look" that way, they ARE modded.

Go check out the "newbie thread" on in my signature. Familiarize yourself with the laws before trying to bring any of those AWs into the state. AW possessions are serious felonies in this state.

you might want to pick up all the handguns you would ever want that are not on the ca safe list. you can bring them with you.

don't bring in any of your mags over 10 rounds when you move.

also no switch blades, nunchucks, or ninja stars. michaelangelo blew it for all of us when he got drunk and beat up april with his nunchucks back in the 80s. she did a special report on ninja weapons flooding the streets. then our legislature stepped in and eliminated all crime by out lawing ninja weapons.
