    SGV Gun Club

I found a couple of these cards tonight in an old S&W box of a revolver I got years ago:

I remember growing up shooting there with my old man.

Sad, it was the closest outdoor range to me. I don't shoot as much now because it's gone.

Everytime one of these threads pops up its like rubbing salt in an old wound.

      Miss shooting at SGVGC.

          coolname74,

That brings back allot of memories that were all good. That was one classy gun range and club. I read on this forum about a small rumor about the gun club coming back to it's local. I hope it does return someday before I go to rest:-)

This is exactly how I feel.

Fired my first <insert weapon here> at Fish Canyon. Still have not heard a more authoritative voice than the range master there. "Up Targets! Commence Firing! Next line break 9 O'Clock"
What part of "shall not be infringed" don't you understand?

I went through the same thing the other day, I found my membership to Los Cazadores. It was bunch of old dudes who had a weekend trap range in a riverbed in Saticoy. I used to go out and shoot a few rounds of trap with them, it was fun and only 15 minutes from my house. Not sure what happened to the club, other than they built a bunch of houses down on the riverbed so they probably got booted.

Now I have to truck at least an hour to shoot any shotguns.

You guys are lucky, I never shot there once to even miss it.

First time I heard about SVGC was in 2007, while attempting to find an outdoor range. Imagine my excitement when SVGC popped up in the search engines. I clicked, and then imagine my utter disappointment when I learned it was closed for good!

                  *Sigh*

My dad used to take me there as a kid. I took hunter safety course there as a kid too.

God help you if you touched a weapon on the bench during a line break! Good times!

It pissed me off everytime I pass that place riding my road bike on the trail the other side of the river to hiway 39 every weekend. Lots of good memories on that place.

                            tatso7,

Remember the two city councils Azusa and Duarte both along with the those people occuping the houses collaborated together to get rid of the range. That was some pretty dirty politics back then. Now there's no revenue coming in at all. Both cities should have just left well enough alone!!

Man I miss that range. Its total BS that it got forced out.
