I have to say, that round did quite a bit more damage that those .45 pics on the link.

What's worse is, the guy is a Marine. You'd think he'd have known better.
Drinking never mixes well with firearms.

I know of an incident that involved a fatality when two guys who were drunk decided to handle a Remington bolt gun in 7mm Mag. The weapon discharged, striking the victim in the elbow, pretty much took off his arm at the point of impact, and the victim bled out before anybody at the scene could get their heads around what happened.

Leave the guns in the safe if you want to have a drink.

        Negligent Discharge of a 1911 .45acp

I got this forwarded to me at work....wow, this guy was lucky.

Take a look and read his comments about his careless negligent discharge. Can't take anything for granted when you are handling a weapon.

go to the link on the upper left about the shooting and the after effects.

That is quite a story and a good reminder. Thanks for posting it, even if it is a repost.

either way repost or not. its a hard lesson learned. ouch. i never ever keep a loaded gun in my house. guns are loaded at the range and are used at the range. Before coming home partial strips are done to free up the loose powder. Guns are double checked to make sure they are empty. Once home they are totally stripped cleaned oiled put back together and put in the safe. Some people get too much in the home defense thing and start having loaded guns in the house waiting for trouble.

Never take firearms safety and handling for granted. Always check and double check. then after you have done that, check again.

I got my 92fs from a Marine that shot himeself trying to clear a jam. Put his hand on the end of the barel and pushed back. The bullet went up his arm through both bones in the lower arm. He was a mess for quite a while and scared to death of guns he sold me the 92fs and an sks for a song. Point is no one is really immune to bad mistakes
