    Barrel cutting help (mosin)

Alright, I made a thread earlier on how to cut straight. I bought a device used to assist you cut straight. My next question. The bore does not look like its as big as the original. I place the face of the bullet on there and it wont go down as much. Would crowning it (which I plan to do) re-do that or what do I need to insure its a proper fit. Please excuse my ignorance I am trying to look everything up but alot of things are incomplete. So all I need to know is if crowning the barrel would make the bore flatter and stay a good diameter. Thanks in advance.

The bore of a rifle is smaller than the bullet. When fired the bullet is pushed through the rifling. The inside of the lands are much tighter than the outside of the grooves. If the bullet just fit then you would not get any accuracy out of the rifle.

I know the barrel is smaller but the barrel I cut is smaller than the original. Not by much though.
