I need something to help me saw straight

Well I want to remake a old cheap $100 mosin I just got. I have a few in original conditon and want to bubba it a little. I'm cutting the barrel down to about 18.5" and was wondering if there is something I can pick up at wallyworld that I can clamp on to assure I cut straight?

I am not a gunsmith or a Mosin owner, but I am a career machinist (about 34 years exp.)
Is the barrel of a Mosin tapered? It really does not matter. I would cut the barrel then grind it perpendicular to the barrel, deburr and polish.

I figured it didnt matter. But im doing this at home so I need to do the least amount of work as possible. I will be griding it with just a sander. Then I have to crown it as well.

On the cheap use a hose clamp as a guide and crank it down

You could spend a little money and get the thing cut straight and crowned. Fine a friend with a lathe.

I've already put $300 into my $100 Mosin.
