    Your gun starts having problems running, mags may have trouble feeding the last 1 or 2 rounds, for example.

    Nothing you can really do to extend life, any spring's life is based on the number of compressioin cycles it sees. A better question might include...what kind of gun and how many bullets go through it in a month...

    Other than using an incorrect replacement part OR buggering up the gun because you can't figure out how to replace the spring, I can't see the problem...am i missing anything??
