Question about ammo cans

Would you repaint them to customize them, or leave them original with the military markings? The ones I have are in pretty good shape, just thinking about customizing them. Opinions?

Do what ever u want to them. When I have time, Im gonna sand off some of the rust / peeling paint, and repaint them black.

I just sand off rust and repaint green for the most part. I cut vinyl stickers so I know what is in all of them though... I do have ONE gray one; I ran out of green paint and didn’t feel like going to the store…

Joke all you want about it, but I've been considering it. As well as the pink nylon single Winchester pistol cases from Walmart. The way I see it, maybe having pink cases and containers will get people to feel more at ease. Then again, maybe not. Who knows.

I bought a wwII era can at a flea market awhile back that was painted metallic gold (eeeek wtf???) but the can is awesome. I have yet to get around to repainting...

If in good original shape i keep them that way, if they're gold.... Well some day!

only the nastiest (is that a word?) of mine got painted; I had some RED volvo marine spray paint that I used. Most are original. To label them, I use duct tape and a felt tip marker. Really really easy to relabel and repurpose.

Somewhere I have a PDF of the military ammo phamplet. I plan to one day repaint my cans and restencil them with the correct nomenclature,NSN numbers, etc.
