New here, with a reloading question.

Hey everyone, this is my first post. Lurked this place for a while and learned some great information. Joined a few months back but haven't posted anything yet so here it goes.

I am looking to reload, save some money, and learn about a different aspect of my hobby. I currently have a .357 colt trooper, an ar15, and a 22wmr marlin bolt action. So I'm looking to start reloading my .357 and .223. More calibers as I get more guns. So after searching around I think I am set on the dillon 550b reloading press, as it is a good quality and reloads both pistol and rifle rounds. My question is, should I look into something else? And what else would I need to start? I am only 20 so money isn't pouring out of my wallet, but I am not afraid of spending some money.

Any help is greatly appreciated. And yes, I already signed the petitions and plan on donating shortly haha.

Check out the subforum. But be advised reloading does not save money it only lowers the cost per round.

You will not save a cent at the end of each year but you will shoot more. Start with a single stage press KIT such as the RCBS Rockchucker kit or the Hornady Kit. You will use it forever. Later you may want a Dillon then get a 650. But you will still end up using the single stage press. Buy the Lyman #49 manual and read it. It will answer 90%+ questions you will have. I have been reloading for many years and currently have 2 RCBS, one Hornady single stage presses and 2 Dillon 650's with one set up for pistol and the other for rifle loading

I advise against loading with a progressive for any rifle caliber....but if youre gonna shoot pistol calibers more, buy a progressive first.

And thank you for the kind invite for future help. I will definitely keep that in mind. What would be the advantage for me getting the single stage first? Like I said I'm new to this aspect, so knowledge is very useful.

There are alot of nice guys in the reloading forum that are happy to help. And I recomend a single stage to start off with also...... Quality over quantity!
