    AR15 Pistol Grip Install Problem

Nearly completed my AR lower build.
    Purchased a CAA 'UPG16' pistol grip ('AR15Grip w/ 6insert').

It will not mount flush. Safety Detent spring and Rear Take-Down Detent spring are visible in gap between grip and lower receiver.

Tried to torque the grip screw down a bit, but no luck. The grip is not square, it seems. The plastic compound is also not what I was hoping for. Looked cool in the magazines, but sending it back. Going with Magpul or Hogue instead. Anyone have a similar issue when fitting up an AR pistol grip?

No haven't run into a poorly molded grip but have run into magpul grip screws that where slathered in loctite making them impossible to screw in all the way...

I had a Magpul grip that didn't want to go in. Period.
I had to file down the sides - a few brief strokes and then re-try something like 4-5 times before I could get it to a point where I could comfortably force it down without worrying about the spring.

My Magpul Grip was a tight fit but the loctite on the screw made it impossible to fully seat the grip. So I unscrewed it scrape off some loctite then rescrew it in

Dudes, Funny you mention Magpul and Loctite. I ran into similar issue w. the PRS. I forgot about the Blue Loctite. Started to torque the stock onto the buffer tube, but got hungry and went for a snack. Returned and had one hell of a time finishing it 'cause the loctite had set. Doh!

If you grab the grip and it wiggles on the lower you do not have the screw turned in all the way.

Disassemble and look for the cause.
