trying to rip me, or honest mistake?

what do you think? i go to a gun store and ask if they have a spikes striped lower. i saw them on spikes web site for 119.00. the clerk says yea. so i say great i'll take it. i start the dros and give him my debit card. he says okay, that will be 219.00 plus fees. i didnt want to look like and idiot , and thought wow these must be in high demand for the price to be that high, and said okay. 11 days later i pick it up and get in my truck. and look at the box and it has a price sticker on it 119.00. i go back in the store and ask if i was charged the correct price. they say oh we owe you some money and give me a 100.00 gift cert.

Time to question it was at time of sale. That one is on you, IMHO. Sounds like an honest mistake.

Sounds like an honest mistake. Maybe if you paid with cash the clerk would try to pocket the extra 100.00 but with a debit card that's less likely.

Yea i probably would have questioned that one. If its advertised at one price thats what it should be sold at. Seems like they rectified the situation though so you're good.

thats kind of what i thought , but you would think the clerk would catch it because it was one item and he had to look at 3 time, when he rang it up. when he entered my card and when he looked at the reciept when i picked it up.

If the 100 gift cert was for their store only... they still get your extra $100

Was the gift certificate for their store only?

Why did he give u a gift card? Seems like he should have either given u cash or put it back on the card. Did he change the reciept to show the refunded amount?

Since I had to have mine shipped from out of state, I had to pay the InterState Transfer Fee, I think it was called, +DROS. With the Spikes, I got two at the same time, so they gave me a discount on the second Transfer fee

Yea i'd probably go back in and explain what happened and get cash. Over ringing someone..then rectifying it by giving them the $100 in a gift card to spend at their store? lol. Good one.

He should have offered you 100 bucks cash or 115 in credit...it's not right to just give you a gift card.

On the other hand...you should have said something. It's too late now.

the gift cert was for there only. he started figuring out how to put it on my card and ask if a gift cert was okay .

What area in PRK are you located?
Honestly, yeah, I wouldve questioned it when they first rang it up. In the same, unless you are hurting for the cash and this is a long term build, that $100 could go right into some parts for your gun.
