        i've been using "scriptblocker" for firefox. when i go to new website, i only temporarily allow javascript enabled for that specific website. with that, it's controlled a ton of unwanted popups and other unwanted advertisements from loading on the webpage.

        give it a try if you want a little more security/discretion in your firefox browser.
