Could y'all clarify preban and kits

First let me clarify I'm just a dumb redneck from Texas and we have no bans on any mags or firearms. (Within reason of course. LOL) I was wondering what can be sent to California? By that I mean mags, firearms? Is a kit still a mag and does it need to be preban like NY or is there even such a thing? How about shipping firearms and what configuration do they need to be in?

Not trying to stir up anything just wanted to see in case I sell something on the board here and to satisfy my own curiosity.

Not if it's disassembled. As for assembled magazines, if it wasn't possessed in the state prior to 2000, then it doesn't really matter whether it's "preban" or not.

You might catch hell for that one though.

The "within reason." part. I'm actually a big fan of rednecks, being one myself. There's just been lots of heated arguments here about what constitutes "reasonable restrictions" on firearms. The general consensus being that if you don't think that people should be able to own any weapon ever made, you're gonna get flamed.

As for your question, I would just like to thank you so much for actually trying to understand a bit of our idiotic laws. So many people/companies just do the whole "You mean I have to actually figure out different laws? Fine, I won't sell anything to Californian gun owners." route that it warms my heart to hear of a fellow gunner that is willing to help us out.

I am by no means trying to say what someone can or cannot own. I think it is kinda ridiculous that some guys on forums will say no CA sales for even trivial items.

The within reason was for us here in Texas as most people have all kinds of different guns. It wasn't directed at any group or for any particular weapon. I was saying "within reason" tongue in cheek as that is the LOL part. Most of us can go to the local walmart and by an M4 clone but you can't buy a full auto uzi without that Fed tax stamp. Now that's unreasonable. LOL

Welcome to Calguns! Very nice to see you thinking about selling items to California buyers - we need more folks like you who are willing to take the time to understand the law, abide by it, and help us out by making more products available here. Fantastic - hope you stick around!

                    ^^ I concur.
Welcome to Calguns, radkoch! THANK YOU for choosing not to alienate CA and fellow firearm owners, and taking the small time to ask and sell legal items to CA residents. We're hungry buyers just like the rest.
