Why do I feel so good after buying a gun(s)?!

I just purchased a Bushy M4 Patrol Upper and I just feel happy. Driving home I felt good inside, singing to the music playing on the radio, whistling, etc.

I dont feel like this way when I purchase other stuff

I know the feeling. I find myself doing nothing but watching youtube vids and day dreaming about my purchase during the 10 day wait lol. Then when I finally get it home I can't put it down for a week

I think it's more than just the firearm; it's anything related to what you like or firearm-related. Heck, I ordered a $10 sight for my Marlin and am giddy as h**l waiting for it to ship tomorrow. There's a very Pavlovian feel to it. I will laugh if there is a "Firearms Purchase and Endorphin/Dopamine Release" study, and be the first to sign up, especially if they'll fund my purchases using grant money.

I get that feeling over a muzzle device lol. Sitting and waiting for the package at the door anticipating the delivery truck.

I bet our caveman ancestors got giddy over new spear points too.

the problem is it wears off, then you have to get another one

I only feel good after I've held the firearm I purchased. Purchasing it, waiting over a week, and calling the store because you forgot how many days its been and feeling like your soul's been crushed because it's only been nine days all takes a toll on me. Congrats on the purchase, though. I share that feeling of euphoria for matters involving copulating and firearms - whether or not they're mutually exclusive is still up for debate.
