Hey guys I have my. Gaurd card and armed Permit for a 9mm. My question is I
Am looking at purchasing a sig 226. Do I need to purchase the 9mm or can I purchase in a different caliber,

Let me guess, you wrote your post with an Apple product? Honestly, that's a question for whoever issued the permit. If I had a permit for a specific caliber, I would think it is only good for that caliber. Ask your instructor

If I qualified with a revolver, am I allowed to carry an "automatic" of the same caliber while on duty? (Ex. I qualified with a .38 revolver and a .45 automatic. Can I carry a .45 revolver since I qualified with a revolver and an automatic?)

The caliber must be the same; however, the firearms permit does not specify revolver or automatic.

How do I change or add a caliber on my Firearms Permit?

You must:

Re-qualify at a firing range.

Submit a firearms permit application obtained from the training facility. There is no fee for adding a caliber.

If you want a firearms permit showing the new caliber, you must submit a request for a duplicate permit along with the $10 fee. It takes approximately three to six weeks to receive the new Firearms Permit.

You can buy what you want. You can carry on duty only the caliber on your firearms permit.

Librarian nailed it, only the caliber listed on the permit is what you are allowed to carry.

If you want to add another caliber do so at your next re-qual. While BSIS does not charge to add or drop calibers the "training" facility does and varies from place to place.
