Leupold scope lens problem

Anyone seen this before?
It's a fairly new scope from the custom shop.
About half way through shooting today I started noticing these spots.
It's on the eyepiece side.
I thought they were on the outside and was just oil splatter
I would clean later. Ends up it's on the inside.
Thinking trying to bust it open and clean myself is not a good idea.

All I can think is they used too much lubricant on the threads or some got near the lens and some was liberated under the shock of firing.

Send it to leupold to take care of it under warranty.

Send it in maybe a pic to CS to start. That is why you buy expensive stuff like that. Service after the purchase.

I once sent back an old Leupold scope I bought used that was dropped and damaged. They sent it back to me completely repaired and did an upgrade on the duplex. FREE OF CHARGE! There one of the best when it comes to warranty work. Send It Back!! P.S---- Remember that these scopes are nitrogen filled so opening them up yourself is a big NO NO!!!

Are you 100% sure it's a legit Leupold made scope? There are some pretty good Chinese forgeries out there being sold as legit Leupold scopes.

Guaranteed legit Leupold, it was a custom scout scope I had to order special.

Sent it back to them today.

I'm sure they will fix it, just seems like a really weird problem to just pop up like that out of the blue. Might just need to be cleaned and that's it but I was too sketched out to attempt to tear it down to get to it.

If it really was behind the lens, if you took it apart you'd have a big problem unless you had the ability to purge the interior of it again when you put it back together(they're typically purged with a gas at the factory such as nitrogen, argon, etc to prevent moisture and possible oxidization).

i have a leupold binoculars that fell off the seat of my jeep , hit the floor , and started seeing double. sent them back they cleaned them fixed them sent them back to me and even paid the freight. and they were 10 years old
