"Intense" that certainly is ONE word to describe him.... I would use other more "colorful" terms.

Guy is an Ahole and loves to brag it seems. If i was a non gun owner and saw this, I would assume all gun people are like this.

I must be lucky - all my ARs are homebuilt, and I'm still alive. I did use some special tools though - a few punches, a hammer, a Dremel, a barrel wrench, and even an upper receiver vice block. Hey, I even have a handguard removal tool, so I must be a gunsmith

i hope that colter b answers more ar15 related questions than that ahole that keeps responding and making it seem like he is some master gunsmith. if anything he is probably some anti-gunner trying to scare off new owners and researched just enough info to make himself sound credible.

Haha, I was at a loss of words for this guy. At first when I read his post I was like this must be a joke, there's no way this is the best answer

Cant think of a nice word to describe him....

And his 24% best answer ratio has nothing on my 42% best answer ratio!

To be honest the headspacing thing concerned a noob like me so I bought a complete upper but I was honestly surprised how easy it is to assemble an AR. All of my "special tools" are for cars but I still seemed to manage to get it together without scratching it all up.

Same with me, most tools were bought previously for auto. I had my gun store where I bought my barrel check the headspace for me when I built my first one

Anyhow, from the times that google searches did lead me to that hub of (mis)information, I saw plenty of FUD and armchair quarterbacking. .
