    New or used

Ok Im not sure if I should go with a new hand gun or used one for my 1st handgun to own I am looking into the beretta 92FS or the M9A1. I have never owned my on gun and tired of renting or barrowing friends/family gun when going to the range any suggestions?

Find a deal on a new one. Too me, the savings for used do not justify the risk. Many times, the original owner played 'amateur gunsmith' and you are stuck with his mistakes.
Too buy used, I must save at least 25% over new.
    Good luck.

New. Because the price of a used one is about the same.

          New.

Try an M&P, Glock, Sig, revolver, etc. before purchasing the Beretta.

It's a great gun, just make sure you are sure before you purchase.

            Your first gun. Buy new.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

A good use one will keep your Gunsmith happy
A use one is ok if you do your own repairs also some parts you can not buy or will cost a lot

Used is fine. If you buy it from a private party, meet at a gun shop with a firing range so you can test fire it.

Remember, used = no tax, which can save you some money.

New. Names Brands like s&w ruger etc.. sell at close to full price for used. Taxes should not be a factor. For $8 every $100 is not bad to just buy new, unfired.

most guns that i purchase are used. guns on my short list are early variants of currently manufactured guns, or guns that are no longer being manufactured.

                    congratulations on your Beretta.
