    Anodizing & JB Weld....

I know the color won't absorb to the JB Weld, that is fine. The JB could dissolve, that is also fine.

My concern is if it will ruin the anodizing and make the color turn out bad. I was going to go with a green color but i'd hate for the JB to turn everything orange or something... with my luck i wouldn't be surprised!

Anyone run aluminum through the anodizing process with JB in it? What happened?

Please only respond if you've tried it!

Most epoxies are not affected by anodizing, because they are fairly resistant to weak acids, but the substrate area covered by the epoxy will not anodize, and there will be a visible de-oxidizing line after the process where the anodic layer will not bond either.

It will not affect the rest of the aluminum at all. Where the jb weld is you will lose electrical contact causing that area to not provide the same amount (if any) anodic coating.

The JB is not going to be exposed when everything is assembled so i think i'm clear. That is a relief. Thank you!!!!!
