    Pakerized vs Blued

Hey guys I need some info. I'm currently in the position to buy a new shotgun (moss 590).

I can get the Blued version for $330 bucks. The cheapest parkerized version I can get is $440.

I plan on keeping the shotgun longterm (will probably never sell it).

Do you guys think I should spend the extra hundred for parkerized? Does it keep longer? Or is the corrosion resistance differences minimal in a California environment?

I do prefer the parkerized look, but I don't think I can beat the price of the Blued.

And no, I will not buy the blue only to parkerize it later.

Parkerized is much more resistant to the elements and is much more durable. Makes cleaning a lot easier as well.

I think it looks better too.

Park is worth the extra, it seems to retain oil on the surface better, and is quite durable.

Park is the way to go, I still have yet to find any gun finish as durable as parkerizing.

I parkerize every gun I own if I'm not going for the pretty look.
