Not seeing anything in my search here and am wondering if it is legal for CA. My way of thinking is, if it's anything fun, it's not legal for CA.

Not legal, multiple threads should have come up on a search.Originally posted by Conan the BarbarianCivilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thingOriginally posted by MrsRazzI don't wish to be known as a set of tits behind a gun.Comment

Thanks, I saw none of this in my searches.
So, in CA, this should mean rapid firing is illegal and bump firing would be illegal, along with the type of bump firing using the belt loop of your pants. So, to take this a little further, wouldn't it make it illegal to wear pants while shooting your rifle as you have the ability,(belt loop) to change the rate of fire? BTW the Slide Fire doesn't change the cycling rate of a standard AR15.
I'm still not seeing much on this topic anywhere on this forum.
A letter from ATF accompanies the legality of this stock but CA says NO?? I was taught Federal Law supersedes state law, silly me thinking the Constitution has any meaning.. Kind of like, your innocent till proven guilty....

Bump firing is not illegal, the problem is attaching something to the weapon to do it. Your pants aren't attached to the rifle if you're using your finger in the belt loop.Comment

You missed a sticky in centerfire rifles titled "BumpFire Stock/Slidefire Stock ILLEGAL in CA"?Thanks, I saw none of this in my searches.

I'll grant the search function is pretty poor, but ...
State law cannot be LESS restrictive than Federal, but it can be MORE restrictive. You won't see much because PC is entirely clear on the point - there's nothing left to say.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

The ATF letter doesn't mean anything because California regulates more than the federal govnment. State law says the drinking age is 21, but a state can pass a law making it 22 if they feel like it. However, they can't make it 20. (this is just an example to show over regulation, dont flame). Also OP, it's the actual stock that is illegal, not the belt loop method. Thanks, I saw none of this in my searches.

Bump firing, according to CA, increase rate of fire, therefore illegal...or should be according to them.
They most certainly are (pants), via your thumb, that makes the connection, like it or not. Not trying to start a war, just making a point is all. No big deal. Just trying to show how passive we Californians are and believing what they tell us. It's obvious, we the people have far more sense than all politicians collectively!NRA Life MemberComment

Huh?? That paragraph makes no sense... And also, do you have a source for where California says that bump firing is illegal?? The only illegal thing is a "multi-burst trigger activator"Bump firing, according to CA, increase rate of fire, therefore illegal...or should be according to them.

trigger activator
Trigger activators got banned and the penalty for possession is a felony.
Now, one could try to argue that the slide fire doesn't touch the trigger, but the intent of the slide fire is to have simulated full auto fire similar to the trigger activators.
The difference though with the slide fire is it appears to actually work
Maybe it is technically legal, but I wouldn't want to be the test case, would you.
Getting a felony conviction will cost you all your gun rights, is it worth it.
Bump firing with guns limited to 10 rounds with attachable mags kind takes a lot of the fun out if you know what I mean.

Unless you can convince the DOJ that your pants are a multiburst trigger activator(and they aren't. They're pants, the DOJ isn't that idiotic), it's fine. And no, bump firing does not increase the rate of fire, the issue is having a device that does it.Bump firing, according to CA, increase rate of fire, therefore illegal...or should be according to them.

Yes, we know the laws here suck. But that doesn't mean it's correct to start assuming things like bump firing are flat out illegal just because the slidefire is attached to the gun. If you took a pair of pants and tied them to the rifle in in some fashion like the shoelace machine gun(ATF decided it was a machine gun, look it up) then you might have a problem.Comment

Could one own the slide fire in Cali off of the gun then if he went into another state put the slide fire on his gun?Comment
