    Open Carry Calaveras Wilderness?

A few friends and I are planning a backpacking trip in Calaveras county up by Lake Alpine.

One of my friends is wanting to carry while we are there and does not have his CCW. This area is wilderness and I'm having a hard time coming up with a definite answer as to wether or not it is legal to do so.

I was thinking that he might be able to get a hunting license and "go varmint hunting", also he says he found something that says you can carry on your way to and from going fishing. We are going to be fishing at our destination.

    Anybody resolve this for us?

check to see if it is BLM land or if it's a National Forest type of thing.
    Gun control is NOT missing.

Yeah I read that thread, and it looks like it's legal to me. I just got confused with all of the exceptions.
