$8000 for a mossy bolt and governor

Watching American guns and the gator hunter got charged 8g for a mossy bolt action bedded with a scout scope and a trigger job. With a governor with a trigger job. I try to watch these stupid gun shows just because I have a love of all weapons, but stuff like this just insults me on a moral level. Loved watching them load shells with spent primers for the test fire.......

Haha. I had it on while making something to eat and was intrigued when he easily tacked on the Govenor as a sidearm to the mossy. I pictured the price tag I would like to of heard in my head if I were that guy and literally LOL'd when I heard $8000.

What's that saying something like "a fool and his money will soon be parted" or something like that. If someone is stupid enough to pay for their piss poor work then they deserve what they get.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the price was outrageous. I would like one of those governors though, maybe if I move to a free state.
Maybe it is the television but I don't see as they did much custom work at all (besides the engraving on the pistol).
I did like the nock (sic) gun, that was pretty cool and it seems the price for a custom BP 7 barrel was ok.

That show is scripted, and all the prices are set beforehand. i highly doubt anyone is paying those outrageous prices for real

After a few episodes of Swamp People, it's clear that the rifles they use are beaters (as they should be) considering the wear/tear/exposure they get. For the most, the shots are taken at ~2 feet away, so the "accuracy package" is a bunch of unnecessary BS in this case. Very rare you see a scope so the over-scripting was too much on this on. Complete rip off. Better bang for the buck on American Restorations!

I had the cash register going on that one.

Even being generous with what the exact optic was on the Mossberg, the stupid engraving and the probably needed trigger job, feed ramp polishing, I was hard pressed to come in at over about $2300.00.

Everything on TV is fake but if you do some research into Gunsmoke and Rich Wyatt, he consistently is accused of ripping people off with his outrageous prices. I don't begrudge him that and there are lots of dumb people out there with fat wallets. If it wasn't Rich Wyatt, it would be someone else.
