    Gunbroker and Calif. Compliant question

I'm looking to buy an ACR. I've found a few possibilities on gunbroker but the rifle needs to made Ca. compliant.

I've checked and searched the threads and cannot find anything on what or how this is done. I understand the rifle needs to go to a local FFL (all pre-arranged before the sale) but where does the compliant conversion get taken care of? I need to have the stock pinned, bullet button & limit the mags to 10rounds (am I missing anything?)

Can someone coach me on how this gets done?

    Thanks

If it is being shipped to a CA FFL dealer with an assault weapons permit, the Bushmaster ACR can be shipped to that dealer as is and that dealer can make it CA legal.
The CA FFL dealer with assault weapons permit will charge extra to do this.

A CA FFL dealer without an assault weapons permit can not legally accept it in a non-CA compliant configuration.

If it is not going to be shipped to a CA FFL dealer with an assault weapons permit, it needs to be made CA compliant prior to being shipped to a CA FFL dealer.
This is done by the seller or by an out-of-state FFL dealer.
The seller may charge more money to do this or cancel the sell because they do not want to deal with doing this.
If the seller does not want to do the modifications, then it will need to be modified by an out-of-state FFL dealer. Who will charge a fee to make it CA legal.

So when bidding on the auction sites on a non-CA compliant firearm, don't forget to factor in the addition costs to make it CA legal.

*CA FFL dealer with assault weapons permit = shipping to CA FFL dealer + conversion cost + transfer fee + DROS

*CA FFL dealer without an assault weapons permit and seller doing the CA legal modifications = paying the seller to do it + shipping conversion parts to seller + shipping to CA FFL dealer + transfer fee + DROS

*CA FFL dealer without an assault weapons permit and an out-of-state FFL dealer doing the CA legal modifications = shipping to out-of-state FFL dealer + conversion cost + shipping to CA FFL dealer + transfer fee + DROS

It may be less expensive to just buy a CA legal version from a CA FFL dealer that has it in stock.
