    Question about iTrader

    Who makes the first move?

I have bought several things from Calgunners and have never recieved feedback until after I give it.

It seems to me that once the money is recieved, the seller should give feedback, and then after the product is recieved, the buyer would respond.

I am thinking that if everyone wated until the "other guy" left feedback first, no feedback would ever be left.

Is there a standard way of doing this that I missed?

I always give a trader rating when the deal is done...either when I receive payment or the goods.
    Not all do in return.
I have at least twice as many sales and buys than my I-trader shows.

It can be tough to find the original FS thread to link to, though.
Sometimes it takes some effort to do the Itrader, so people don't.

I wait to inspect everything and the deal is done (as san said).

To counter your point of once things are paid for, what if you (or they) receive an item that is different from advertised but you/they have already given +1 feedback, what do you do then?

If you want the feedback maybe send a polite email to whomever received the items from you and say “hey, blah blah blah.”

I’ve given iTrader to half a dozen or so folks that did not give it back. I will now not give iTrader until I receive it - that’s just me though.

Buyer should receive it as soon as payment changes hands as their part of the deal is done.

The seller or person(s) trading an item shouldnt receive it until the goods are in the buyer's hands and have been inspected/vetted. For something like a PPT I'll leave feedback after I've picked it up from the FFL and had a chance to field strip and maybe fire a few rounds through the gun.

Nothing wrong with sending a polite request/reminder for feedback to/from either party. Just dont get rabid about it if they dont.

This is just my view on the whole thing, other's may vary.

Normally during the transaction, I task the other party that we mutually leave a positive feedback if biz went smoothly. If there were any concerns regarding the item, I encourage communicating 1st to resolve the matter and if all fail, then I leave the appropriate feedback.

As a seller, once the buyer receives his item, and is satisfied with the transaction, I expect feedback to be left, but it rarely happens.

As a buyer, I will leave feedback once I receive the item, inspect it, and am satisifed with the transaction.

I'm another one that has WAY more transactions than my feedback is reflective of.

I will always leave feedback. Personally, I don't worry whether or not the other party reciprocates.

No way. Their part is done except for complaining about condition or any other thing and demanding a refund. Hasn't happened to me, but waiting a week or two isn't going to hurt. The other party does get notice when you leave feedback, so I do it when I think the deal is done, and expect the same in return. If it is not forthcoming, I remind them.

IMO, buyers should always leave feedback first.

They should but not always the case. I've sold may things without receiving feedback, as well as buying some. I just don't worry about it.

When the deal is done and everyone has received their end, don't wait, just leave feedback. Don't worry about who goes first. If you care deeply and they haven't done their feedback just remind them.

I've had real good results buying on CalGuns, honest, decent people. I shy away from the new kids with a 0 iTrader rating though, unless it's something less than $20 or so.

As a seller, I typically leave feedback after receiving the payment. As a buyer, I wait until I have the item, obviously to inspect it. I see no reason to wait on the other person in either case - if you are happy with the way the other guy fulfilled his obligation in the sale, leave him a positive. The only reason I could see waiting would be to make sure you have the ability to counter any negatives the other person might give you, which would not only defeat the objective of using the system, but would likely just get you into trouble in the BST area. Anyway, there are a lot of people who won't leave feedback in return, from my experience, usually newer members who only came here to buy or sell something. Maybe in receiving your feedback they feel obligated to return the favor, even when they normally wouldn't care enough to do so upfront.

If you had a good experience, give the feedback. If you had a problem, try to work it out before posting anything.

Some folks prefer not to leave an iTrader transaction for privacy, but that should be agreed on by both parties.

Regardless of how much the sale or trade was for, if it went smoothly, I try to remind the other party that I'll leave positive feed back and do so as soon as possible. If the other party doesn't return the favor I get a little annoyed but I quickly let it go.
