Disassembling one lower to build another. Yes or no?

I'm contemplating pulling the parts out of one lower and assembling another different manufacturer lower. I know when I originally put it together alot of the parts were press fit. I'm just wondering if will damage anything in the normal careful disassembly process and if the parts will be usable and still function ok in the next receiver. It's a NM RRA LPK. Do you all think it might just be worth keeping the one intact and ordering another LPK? Thanks for any input. c good

dont take it apart. just get a new parts set. you will have to replace the one you took out. so why bother.

Chances are you will cost yourself more damage in parts and repair than just buying a second LPK. The pistol grip shouldn't be removed if it doesn't need to be, the roll pins will most likely be destroyed and their holes damaged unless you know what you're doing with the proper tools, and the bustock shouldn't be removed if it doesn't need to be; all of these will develop slop if changed too much (and sometimes once is all it takes, especially for the less than tool savy).

All that's really useable after it's all installed is the trigger and hammer. Big deal, you just saved $20 and put extra wear on your receiver. If you can't spend the extra $20 then you probably shouldn't be buying gun parts (this is NOT aimed at you, just a general rule of thumb I use to control my compulsive gun buying habits).

For what it's worth, I've successfully taken parts out of 4 lowers without any real problems.
