There is also castellos, gun exchange, and valkyrie arms. Valkyrie is actually in santa clara, but its pretty close to downtown san jose. I would really recommend valkyrie arms. Nice guys and quite knowledgeable. Castellos only sells hunting rifles and shotguns, but they have a large collection of knives for sale. Gun exchange has a selection of rifles and handguns, but is a bit cramped. Here are the locations.

Thanks for the replies. I've been to all those shops before, when Valkyrie was in Milpitas though. I haven't been to Metal Dog yet and I was in the neighborhood, so I thought I'd take a look.
