I ordered a new barrel

On March 7th, I ordered a PacNor Supermatch Pre-fit Savage barrel chambered in 22.250 AI. It's 26" finished length, 5 groove, with a 1:8" twist and threaded muzzle.

On June 30th I received word that Pac Nor had shipped it. Here's the UPS tracking (Start at the bottom):

Unfortunately, I've had UPS packages take the scenic routes as well, in my opinion UPS now rivals FEDEX and DHL in screwing up.

Maybe a weather related issue? Such as, it was meant to go on a flight each time that got canceled, was then returned to the hub each time it failed to depart? Or truck broke down, routes not finished each day in time, etc.

UPS sure isn't the same company it had been in the 1980's, that's for sure.

Back then, the company was run like a clandestine military operation, and it was tough to get a job with them because their background check and acceptance standards were so strict.

Hopefully it eventually shows up. I have a Bartlein barrel that has been all over the country, courtesy of U- Pee-On-Us. They are approaching the incompetency of FedEx, who once left a boxed handgun leaning up against my mailbox post down on the street. Imagine my surprise when, after waiting at home all day to receive it, tracking much later showed it as “delivered”. Never heard, saw, or knew in any way that the driver had delivered it, despite the “adult signature required”, and the gate was left wide open with an acre of room for them to turn around in. A manually operated dildo could have figured that out. Delivery drivers for the most part these days are nothing more than used wet-wipes on the floors of dirty beachside public toilets. Plan ccordingly.

Ironically, I've ordered things from Turkey, Germany, London, and Australia that have gotten to me faster to California than orders on similar items from Ohio, Florida, and Washington states.

Remarkbly, in 50 years of having stuff ordered/shipped, I've never had anything go lost - damaged in transit, yes - but never a lost item. There were some close calls, delivered to wrong address or wrong offices, but always retrieved.

File a lost complaint with UPS. They do this crap all the time. I stopped using my UPS commercial account because of their combination of incompetence and corruption.

UPS is awesome if you have Capital set up with commercial. They pay out claims in 3 days, THEN investigate.
FedEx sucks because everything that comes into CA goes through the blackhole Bloomington location.

As a consumer, lost shipments are in your favor. If UPS doesn't pay out, then your seller will.

I got it this evening. Delivery notice at 5:00 PM, it was in the bin at the top of my driveway.

On the rimfire central forum a couple decades ago, one guy shared his UPS tracking of a barrel. It was suppose to go 2 States over on the east coast, 2 day air. It traveled to the west coast FIVE times, as in 10 flights back and forth, before finally being correctly routed.

And then sometimes UPS surprises us. Ordered a new AR lower. Seller shipped it Monday afternoon and tracking number shows delivery at my FFL for tomorrow at 10am.

It's been on such a wild trip, you should look it over for foreign test-proofs and import rollmarks!
