    Big Question

To start off I apologies if this is the wrong forum for this discussion. I was at the range the other day and a few of my elders were having a discussion about " Home Land Security" buying 450 million rounds of ammo, and bullet proof bunkers. So needless to say everyone's imagination set in. I went home that day and decided to look into this. I was able to find a lot of information "kinda bothersome really" on Google. So the question is what do you think about this, how do you feel is this information just hogwash or should we as the American people be concerned?

read a few things here about some huge ammo purchases, seems like alot of them were "blanket" order type purchases to be spread out over a period of time...i wouldnt read to much into it

On another forum I'm one, one of the regulars chimed in on this. He works with a contractor who does stuff for the government, and his take was this type of thing happens all the time. They put in a huge order, but because of the type of contract, they can pull it at any time. And, yes, that sucks for the company who wins the bid.

      At least I hope so...

The way I understand it is that the ammo is meant for a long period of time, to cover all of their agents. A member on here in a different thread, and it came out to a really reasonable number of rounds per agent, I think it was in the 5000rnds per year range
