Tax On Ammo

Hey guys:

I was in Walmart earlier today and I was looking around for ammo availability and
prices. For the sake of accurate math, I asked the clerk how much the price
will be of the 250 rounds PMC .45 ACP package, so that I am exact to the penny,
she answered me that it is NOT just the regular sales tax rate, but there is an
additional tax as well...

I have not bought any ammo recently and so I am not familiar with any new
tax or sur-tax that the clerk mentioned.

Have you guys heard of this and how much is the new tax rate/extra tax
that ammo are being hit with ?

That is BS. You pay the price of the ammo plus the sales tax wherever you are.

There is an excise tax, but that is paid by the manufacturer.

I have no idea, but they will tax us all they can for anything they can, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Those of us in Stanislaus are still paying the .5% increase and the .25% for the library system, so we are a little different than some other counties. I don't mind the library tax, it's worth it in the end. The other that includes road maintenance I at with issue with, the money is certainly going elsewhere...
