Thoughts on the Ruger Blackhawk Convertible

Any thoughts on the Ruger New Model Blackhawk Convertible and whether the 4.62" or the 5.5" would be the 'better' length for trail use as opposed to cowboy competitions?

I currently have an adapter which allows me to shoot 45 Long Colt from a shotgun and am looking to, perhaps, give myself some handgun capability, then, maybe, in the future, a lever gun. But, having the ability to also utilize 45 ACP strikes me as 'attractive.'

Ruger offers a Redhawk which would shoot both 45 LC and 45 ACP, but it's half again as expensive and I think a shooter used to have to utilize moon clips to fire the 45 ACP, whereas the Blackhawk you swap out the cylinder.
