    Thoughts on this transaction

********** UPDATE - seller made things right and the item is being returned for a refund. Another online purchase learning lesson on misleading responses to specific questions **********

Just picked this up and there is a story behind the condition I'm trying to work out with the seller who stated it was "used just once" and "nothing wrong with it" when I specifically asked about dings and scratches...

BTW, the pic posted in his WTS ad is gone and does not show the damage on the top turret...or any of the other damage...

I'd hate to see it's condition if it was used twice.

You don't say what his response is to your specific question re dings and scratches unless used just once is his response. If so, I would have asked for a more direct answer to my question. If what you state is correct, I'd say it was misrepresented.

The dings and scratches wouldn't deter me from buying but it certainly would set the price. If he's not willing to make a price adjustment, the right thing to do would be for him to refund your money and take the scope back since he clearly wasn't accurate in his description. But if he's the type of person to do what he did in the first place, I'll be surprised if he does the right thing.

Not sure how you bought this. Do you have any recourse through Pay Pal or did you, perhaps, pay with a credit card where you could stop payment?

      Good luck!

It's cheap Chinese crap, why care if there is a ding? Make it a Nightforce and you have a complaint.

The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

I specifically asked about "dings, scratches" to try and get a better idea of the condition simply due to the fact I take care of my stuff and something that is used "just once" is LNIB for my gear.

His exact response was "nothing wrong with scope". In hindsight, a misleading statement. The scope functioned, it just look like it was not well cared for.

Being a cheap foreign made part was not the issue. A low end scope was factored into my pricing. Being beat up was not and that's the issue. Had the true condition been revealed, I would have either passed on it or negotiated a different price.

A Toyota Camry driven just once commands a different price than a Toyota Camry driven just once and crashed.

how was this resolved so quick?

You do realize NC Star is cheap junk to begin with right? Could have been lightly used.
