Thinking of getting rid of my BB'd AR.

I've had several bullet buttoned AR's over the years and while I like shooting them I hate the damn bullet buttons. I also am not fond of featureless ar's. I'm considering getting rid of it and getting another glock and throwing a RMR on it as well as a surefire x300 .

Anybody here have experience with the RMR's on pistols? I almost feel wrong getting rid of one gun for another but I just think I'll enjoy the glock more. I shoot pistols a lot more than the AR.

I would keep it. Buy a solar tactical grip wrap and try it for awhile. You might decide it's not too bad. Anything is better than letting the commies influence you.

I guess it's more so because I shoot pistols a heck of a lot more these days, Which is why I'm seriously considering getting rid of it for another pistol... If I threw on a grip wrap I would also have to fix the stock. I feel like you loose the modularity of the platform when going featureless.

One day you may not be able to own even a BB'd AW. It may come down like the AWB in 2000 where only preowned can be registered in this state. Pray not but you never know.

I regret a lot of my trades over the years i.e. AYA SxS, Beretta 84fs hi-cap, Glock hi caps in various models, Hi-Powers, STI's, Para's and a lot not on that ridiculous approved list.

Hold onto it. You don't know what the future holds. Heck, BB's may not be required one day. Who knows.

There's material on the pros and cons of RMRs on handguns on the net. In particular you should read what DocGKR, Dr. Gary Roberts is saying about them as I think he's running them almost exclusively now. I can't remember if he covers the cons in his write ups or not, but if not, those are out there as well.

Regarding the tradeoff; a rifle for a pistol doesn't make sense to me. I can see you wanting to trade it for something like a Springfield M1A, Benelli M4 or even a Ruger Mini 14. Something that can fulfill the same purpose without the hassle of the BB, but not a pistol.

Sell an AR-15 and get a .22lr in nwn ar platform, and a mossberg MVP bolt gun when you want to plink for accuracy. The MVP takes AR mags and is cheap. Also cheap and fun to drop mags with the .22 AR as well.

Keep it. Put it away and don't touch it for a year or two. Then pull it out and you will instantly thank yourself for not selling it!
Example: I used to collect milsurp. I regret ALL my choices to get rid of milsurps I had in the past.
Especially after seeing what an SKS or Mosin or Mausers are going for now!
Kurtz: I expected someone like you. What did you expect? Are you an assassin?
                          Willard: I'm a soldier.
Kurtz: You're neither. You're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.

I dont know why people hate BB's so much, granted the "fact" that we have to use it sux, but the actual manipulation isnt that big a deal. I am not carrying it on deployment, my life is not currently depending on how fast I can reload, I am not getting shot at.
Life is good people, enjoy what you can while you can because you never know when it might all go away.

Pretty much. Unless you're taking tactical carbine classes all the time, then it would be more of a hassle.

When I'm at the range all I ever see is people shooting from the bench. They have plenty of time to activate the BB. I'm usually the only one shooting offhand and even then, I can practice a "speed reload" thanks to the UBBT I have on my mags.
