    Broken cleaning rod. Options?

Just broke a cleaning rod. Is there something better than the Hoppe's I am using?

    Dewey rods.

A bit pricey, but I've used mine for years and never regretted getting them.

I'm fine using a cheapie set if you're not shooting too often.

Almost any rod is better than the Hoppe rod. Dewey is great. Same for Pro-Shot. Midway Tipton brand is good.

I like and use the first two brands. If Dewey does not have the size/lenght I want then I get Pro-Shot ones. Tese are all one piece rods and the only kind to use. The jointed rods are not good.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

If you're looking for a cleaning rod, another vote for Dewey. I use one on rifles, that Dewey rod could double as a weapon in its own right..

The flexible bore snakes are great for cleaning too and never break.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

I've got Tipton CF rods, and they get the job done just fine! Great prices on Amazon too!

Any quality one piece rod is better than the multi piece rods.Lot of good ones out there.

I broke the handle of my Hoppes 3-piece rod 2 or 3 cleanings ago. I'll probably go with the carbon fiber Tipton deluxe rods. It's going to be pricey because I think I need 3 but should last a long time
