    I assume you mean the lightening cut? Nothing really...
    They just skip the extra milling of the carriers on some WASR's

      Exactly what I mean. I was disappointed when I got this carrier.. lol I like the other ones. So, there is no difference as to why? Just laziness?

        Extra time, tooling and money.

        Just did a Google seems they are referred to as "slabside" and are common on Bulgarian made rifles as well.

        If it bothers you that much you could get a carrier from Apex.. (tho you'd have to put a USA piston on it to keep 922r status)

            Just fyi you could have headspacing issues if you replace the carrier.

              You will not have headspacing issues replacing the carrier. headspace is set by the locking lugs on the bolt and front trunnion. The carrier has nothing to do with it.
