Beretta bought 9% of Ruger Stock

Anyone have insights on this? Ruger makes some affordable range toys and would really hate to see Beretta F'ing it up.

Sturm, Ruger & Co. says it has adopted a one-year shareholder rights plan after an Italian gunmaker disclosed that it had built nearly a 9% ownership stake in the company.

My take, could be worse, a private equity acquisition, as we’ve seen before, would be worse. I agree with jarhead, Beretta’s history has shown to improve the arms companies they acquire.

Here’s another article on RGR’s recently adopted ‘stockholder rights plan’ (no paywall),
SOUTHPORT, Conn., October 14, 2025--The Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) ("the Company") Board of Directors (the "Board") today announced that it has approved the adoption of a limited-duration stockholder rights plan (the "Rights Plan"). The Rights Plan is effective October 14, 2025 ("Effective Date") and will expire on October 13, 2026.

I love both companies so I have no issue with this. Sounds like normal diversification as the gun industry slows down with President Trump in office, there aren't many buying frenzies.

Capy, I'd like to chime in and vote for Newsome's move on the Glocks. Just wait for the ban to kick in and watch the used market. Heck, I think new ones are scarce.

You can go to virtually any pawn shop and grab a clean used Glock for $350-400 all day.

Hadn't thought of the pawn shop route jarhead. Might be because the ones in my area went belly up that sold guns.

Beretta has been in the game for 500 years. They own Benelli, Uberti, Franchi, Holland & Holland, Sako, Stoeger, Steiner, Tikka, Burris and a few others. Not a one of them has gone belly up. Beretta will eventually own Ruger and that will be a good thing. I would guess that they have some pretty deep pockets and you would see a lot more new stuff from Bill's old company.

If Beretta take over Ruger, i suspect some prices will go up and some competing product lines will get trimmed.

If Beretta gains control of Ruger, expect prices to increase.
