Where to consign firearm in SF Bay Area?

I purchased some guns and ammo about 10-15 years ago. Hand guns, rifles, etc. Most are new never fired, just sitting in the safe. Some are registered assault rifles. I am not completely up to date on current laws since it is always changing. I was thinking about consigning them somewhere. Where would be a good shop to consign in the SF Bay Area (I am in the Berkeley area). How much is typical % for the fees? Can I consign ammo? TIA.

I believe J&R in Livermore may take consignments too.

Mount McCoy auctions will pick them up for your home, and will also take ammo. They do not take ar pattern rifles however if I remember correctly.

ASP Armory in Vacaville seems to always have stuff on consignment, so they may have a seller friendly fee.

Its better to list them on here or caguns and PPT them. The consignment fees take a fair amount of money out of your pocket on the sale.

                    Agreed..........

If I'm looking for something used, I'm not gonna drive around to all the shops. This site by far has the best selection.

Consign it yes, and also post the stuff here if only to tell folks where they are consigned.

I’d be willing to bet they’re not assault rifles.

You mentioned registered AW. There is an outfit list above that has a sister company called lock, stock and barrel.

their rep will come to your home, do all the paperwork on each gun, ship them to the LSB office. They take a bunch of photos and auctions to up on Gunbroker.

if you have older off roster handguns, you will get a premium selling in ca.

LSB is fast turn around and sale. Local shop consignment - who knows how they market the guns.

if you go local, search their online inventory... do they email customers, feature on their website or rely on walk in traffic.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                          (thanks to Jeff Cooper)
