    Medium-long range shooters

    Many medium-long range shooters here?
I have public land where I set steel up from 100yards - 1 mile when I have time.

Took this Ridgeline LPR shooting Bonefrog 77gr OTM out to 1015 yards the other day.
5.56 doesn't make a whole lot of noise when you hit steel at that range, but its noticeable.

On heavier steel even 308 does not make much noise at 1k

i shoot at a 14" spinner. It has 4 outer sections and the bullseye that move. Way easier to see impact that far out especially on days with mirage

Ridgeline LRP, 9 hole reviewed that rifle in 6 ARC I believe past 1,000 yards and said it was a nice rifle system.

Do they sell that rifle in ca, and in 6mm ARC ?

      How’s yours?

Tri-County gun club shoots 600 and 1000 yard matches every month near Cuyama.

I shoot varmints out to 500 yards in my backyard.

Is that what they meant when they said "delayed gratification"? Such a satisfying sound.

We have steel set-up at our family ranch at 200, 450 & 600 from the porch bench, three sizes of gongs at 200, a 14” square and 4” & 9” rounds, the 450 yard gong is 18” square and the 600 is a standard IPSC silhouette; we have a flat area on the hill behind the house that adds 300 yard to these targets. On another part of the ranch we can shoot out to 1500 yards with a good backdrop, but my adult son and I are the only ones that do it.

I set-up a MagnetoSpeed hit indicator on the 600 yard silhouette, I replace its batteries once a year but it’s been on the gong through 5 winters and it’s still working.https://magnetospeed.com/products-t1...-hit-indicator
