Last time I was in Ensenada (1971) I got stoped at the southern checkpoint. The soldiers were armed with the old M-3 .45 cal grease guns. The muzzle looked huge as they pointed them at us and relieved us of a case of beer to pass.

      Armored Car Security: mix of S&W .38 Specials/ .357 Magnums, M-1 Carbines, Remington 870's, Mossberg 500's.

Local Police (Tijuana, Mexicali and other little dinky border towns I lived in): Beretta 92's, 1911's, M-1 Carbine's, Bushmaster Ar-15's, G-36 ("SWAT team in SLRC), Remington 870's, Mossberg 500's and some sort of belt fed (m249?) in Tijuana's MD-500 helicopter.

State Police: M-16's, H&K G-3's, FAL's....never did see any shotguns with them but I assume they have them.

      Mexican Army, Marines and AFI/Policia Federal (Mexican FBI): Beretta 92's, M-16a2's, M-4's, FX-05 Xiuhcoatl, H&K G-3's, M-249's, M-2 Browning's, Mk. 19 grenade launcher's and H&K Mp5's (only saw with the marines).

I cant imagine what kind of logistical nightmare it would be to supply the Mexican Army....so many different types of guns.

After the FX-05 was released, H&K made noise about suing for patent infringements due to it appearing to be a G-36 clone.
H&K was then allowed to examine the FX-05.
After examining it, H&K determined that it was not a clone and no patents were copied/infringed.
