    I believe in Gavin Newsom.

What part of what I said is an issue?

Not looking for a fight, but wish to hear your thoughts.

1 in 30 law was irritating, but I doubt was a real issue to anyone in this sport. Spending all the $ to over turn didn’t accomplish much as you have 50 other laws that are more of an issue. 1 step forward, 50 steps back. Newsom was successful in this.

No issue really, but geeez - just savor the moment and think positive!!

      It doesn't happen too often.

As for me, I do collect, and particularly a large number of obscure things that are not C&R; so the 1-per-30 day restriction with it recently having included semi-auto rifles as of late, and the threat of that soon to be applied to ALL firearms - including PPT transactions - was indeed a real issue.

And no, I don't feel I should be forced get a license to enjoy my 2nd Amendment rights just to not have a quota on quantity I can purchase (i.e., C&R with COE).

        Ok, I get your point.
For me, I’ve been fighting and suffering this States BS since I bought my first centerfire and started collecting as an adult in 1990.

All I see is significant legislation curbing the sport, and significant losses in over turning unconstitutional legislation, and as an old man now, I have no more partying attitude in a minor win upon minor legislation that has not much affect on people.

Spend the money on over turning AW laws, mag restrictions, carry restriction, and CcW process delays.

Seems like a process of triage is needed as to where to spend on legislation. However, I’m no longer interested in waiting around. I’m retired and figure it’s time to leave to a free state to enjoy the hobby and time I have left.

Me too. Sounds like we may be approximately the same age, me maybe a few years older.

I've already got one foot out of California in 2 different states - may soon make that permanent.

Ironically, I may sell off my entire collection soon anyway. At least the 'Off Roster' stuff before I vacate.

I’m sorry to hear you may have to part with parts of your collection. I’m stuck here for at least a year until I can my youngest in a university and living on campus. My worry is I pass before I leave, my eyes went to crap 8 years ago. Getting old sucks.

No, it doesn't! It's a privilege denied many.

I hear ya loud & clear!
I started to seriously get into firearms, shooting and hunting back in 1980. Reloading that same year.
Politicians, enabled by stupid voters have turned California and a number of other states into overflowing septic tanks. I’ve watched the legislation keep coming, and the black-robed rapists in the various courts keep dry-shafting the citizenry. It is indeed criminally disgusting.
Upon turning 60, I now have my “cynicism license”, and speak in an unfiltered manner when appropriate. Being retired, nobody can fire me, and I couldn’t give two dry shtis about what others think. I too am looking for another place to call home, in a more fun-friendly state. California can take their woke liberal culture and go felate themselves.

I was wondering what the hell happened to me? That explains a lot. Fellow license holder here!

Along with that license comes a process my brother and I devised to assign a value score to individuals, groups, places, things, etc. One factor used when assigning a value score to an individual for example, is the “GI” factor, for General Incompetence. This can mean several things, but mostly goes on the premise that nowadays most other people are incompetent until proven otherwise. This is born from life experience. In general, we find that more people are totally incapable of performing the most basic of tasks, for a variety of reasons. This has given rise to another term I came up with, the “Daily Fail”; basically, the DF means that each and every day, something/someone will somehow fail a particular task that directly effects what I am doing. These can be very minor (such as the order placed at an eatery service counter turns out to be prepared wrong), or major (such as a car crash, etc.) Sometimes the DF is my own fault, but mostly it is the result of incompetent people doing things wrong.
This has resulted in my disdain for most of the public, and most all of the people employed in various service industries. Let us use the USPS as an example; frequently their workers miss-deliver mailed items such as packages, resulting in losses. It has become so bad, that the clerks at my local post office know me by name when I walk into the service counter area to try to locate mail that THEY lost through incompetence. Another example is UPS, who recently crushed a large box of new .45-70 brass cases, resulting in over one hundred being un-useable. Yet another example is FedEx, who left a firearm leaned up against the mailbox down by the street. Thankfully a neighbor driving by stopped to call me before some pirate grabbed it.
                      And the list goes on…
