    Shipping a gun HELP!!!

    Hey all,
So i was looking at having an out of state gunsmith do some work on one of my rifles. He told me i could just pack it up, take it to UPS, have them ship it to him, and than he will ship it right back to my door. I told him im pretty sure that isnt how it works in California, but he insisted that since the FFL had already transferred it to me, i didnt have to go through an FFL again.... Idk what the right way to do this is. Any advice??

If the gunsmith is a FFL (probably an 07 I think) what he told you is correct. A rifle can also be sent via the mail.

Yup, that's the way it works in CA.

Pack it up in a box, go to the post office, send it to him and he'll send it right back to you when he's done. If you send it Express Mail, I think it is < $15...It cost $12 when I had a rifle shipped here from FL

Sending it to a gunsmith/manufacturer it's the same, it can be shipped right back to your home.
