I guess the overwhelming majority of voters/people in California embrace and accept this. Otherwise it wouldn't happen, truly sad. What's next? turning yourself in so you can be turned into a can of dog food? Crazier by the day.

Next session, they'll slightly amend it to please corrupt stakeholders and it'll pass.

Could be that Gav Boy and the DNC wanted to wait on it so signing it wouldn't tarnish Emperor Hair Gel's Presidential run. When you think about, the corrupt politicians of Commifornia basically have carte blanch to write any insanely illegal and Unconstitutional law against gun owners and gun ownership that they want so there
was something behind the scenes that pressured him to yank it. Commifornia politicians have been able to pass any insanity they want under Biden but perhaps under Trump, they realized that he can withhold funding for California so perhaps they thought twice?

PC 198.5 is still intact and would have still been even if this bill passed.

The special class of citizens were also affected by this bill, thus their Union would have none of it.

Then we'd have had and probably will have conflicting PC that are inconsistent and against each other. Wonder which one a prosecuting DA would enforce? It will be the one that gets them an easy conviction.

Question................. could the homeowner be the aggressor and assault the burglar who is OBLIGATED BY LAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to retreat against the criminal homeowner? Can the burglar be prosecuted because the burglar did not retreat.

Basically........... what this is.............. is no win situation for someone still standing. If someone attacks you, and you live and they die the victim is the criminal. If the victim dies, then yea, the criminal is still the criminal. But if the criminal dies in the course of an assault the victim becomes a criminal.

Probably why the Bill was pulled by the author, but I presume they will keep trying.

Yea, the victims will have to be willing to make the DA's work for it. Which people usually don't do, and are scared to risk deals a DA might give them to make the DA's job easier even if the deal destroys much if their life.
