    Shooting at Burro?

Not sure exactly where it happen but I think it was at Burro sunday.

My buddy and fellow Calgunner "Droppin Deuces" got shot in the leg...

Kind of a crazy deal but I guess a larger guy was sitting on his own personal chair and the chair "broke".
When that happen the guy squeezed off a round or two.

I did talk to "DD" via text he was very lucky it did not hit any arteries, bone or otherwise. I am thankful he is ok but figured other Calgunner would want to here of this.

Hope it is not a repost.

OH nuts. There's always threads of being shot in the leg. But this has got to be a first non self-inflicted report!

Wishing Him a speedy recovery. And for when he gets back online, I gotta ask if he lived up to his handle.

Wow! I hope DD is okay and has a full and quick recovery.

I stopped going to ranges on weekends and holidays the potential for disaster is just to high. Its like a excited noob festival and everyone's got a loaded gun.

I am fearful on my own land of being shot... Haha

It is crazy at any range so I stay away.

He is doing great and VERY lucky.

He is a super cool guy and the person who paints my racing helmets... He is very talented.

What is super cool he has a cool scar to show the chickens now... lol

I thought this occurred at Pala, not Burro. A good buddy was there a few lanes down when he saw the whole thing go down. He literally contacted me after it happened.

Mentions a Marine and a retired fire chief providing first aid.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

                    Ah, yep. That was me

It did happen at Pala on Monday. It happened pretty much as Seesm described. An unfortunate situation that involved some quick thinking and heroic action by a wonderful friend and fellow Calgunner(Knife Edge), a Marine Corps Combat Lifesaver, and a retired Fire Captain. I owe them a lot and will be indebted to them for a long long time.

All is good at this point as I was very lucky(aside from being shot).

Thanks for all the well wishes. I've made some very good friends on here and I now realize that there are a lot of great folks on Calguns.

Haha. I am happy to say that no deuces were dropped by Deuces. In fact, I didn't even go down when it hit me, and it was a .22! So Deuces did not drop a deuce, nor was he dropped by a deuce!

Wishing you the best. Sounds like your off to a great recovery. More people should learn from you. It was an accident and that was that and move on.

                            1. wearing body armor when entering environments where firearms are being used is not a bad idea

                            2. keeping a basic med kit with ABDs, Izzies, and possibly a hemostat within close reach when entering environments where firearms are being used is not a bad idea

                            3. as ridiculous as it sounds given that he got shot... DD was very, very lucky

Sorry that this happened, but glad you're going to be ok and that it wasn't a lot worse.
One good thing about ranges is that there are usually a few ex military folks there who've had some training.
